Support the Green Guest House at Rowe!

The Rowe Labor Day Gay Men's Retreat is one of the country's oldest and largest gay men's gatherings. We as men who are gay, bisexual and questioning have gathered each year for the last twenty-five years to create community and find a place of acceptance, learning and joy. Rowe was a pioneer in creating this weekend of celebration and it seems like a fitting time to commemorate this amazing community by supporting the new green guest house at Rowe.
Rowe's vision is to build a straw-bale house that will be a model of green technology in action. Solar panels will heat water and provide electricity. Southern exposure, tile floors, and thermal drapes will make the most out of passive solar energy. Hallways and service areas that need less light will be on the north side of the building. Seven bedrooms, with private bathrooms, will be handicapped accessible and will provide a new level of accomodation for guests of Rowe. The house will also offer conference space for groups and private retreats year round. A small kitchen will allow small group to use the house independently of the main camp during summer youth camp.
Rowe is looking for major donors to put the initial funding for the Green Guest House in place. The Women's Library and four of the seven guest rooms have been named. For a gift of $25,000, we can name a room in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Labor Day Retreat, and we can even use that room to raise funds for the scholarship program by auctioning off the use of the room for the following year.
